Pub Fries
Have the restaurant experience at home with Cavendish Farms Restaurant Style Pub Fries! These premium, skin-on, thick-cut fries are lightly seasoned with sea salt to deliver the authentic taste of your neighbourhood pub. While they’re delicious on their own, the thicker cut of these fries means they’re great for dipping in your favourite sauces. Serve them with specialty ketchups, aioli, curry mayo, or whatever you please. Made in Canada from domestic and imported ingredients.
Ingredients
- 1 bag Cavendish Farms Restaurant Style Pub Fries
- 2 white fish fillets, such as cod or pollock, about 4–6 oz each
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp pickles, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp dill, finely chopped
- 1 tsp fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 3/4 cup panko breadcrumbs, lightly blended
- 2–3 tbsp neutral oil
- 2 slices cheddar or American cheese
- 2 brioche burger buns
- Iceberg lettuce, shredded (for serving)
Directions
- Preheat air fryer to 400°F.
- Spread Pub Fries in air fryer basket and cook according to packaging instructions.
- To prep, pat the fish fillets dry with paper towel and season with salt and pepper.
- For the tartar sauce, mix the mayonnaise, pickles, dill, and lemon juice in a small bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Set aside.
- Set up a breading station with flour in one shallow bowl, beat egg in a second shallow bowl, and blend panko breadcrumbs in a third. Dredge each fish fillet in the flour, shaking off any excess, then dip into the egg and coat in panko.
- Heat neutral oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the breaded cod fillets and cook for 3 – 4 minutes per side, until golden brown and crispy.
- Top each fish fillet with a slice of cheddar cheese and let it melt slightly. Remove from the skillet.
- Spread the tartar sauce onto the burger buns. Assemble each sandwich with shredded iceberg lettuce and the cooked filet. Serve with cooked Pub Fries on the side!
